Day 12 of 40

Prayers in Private

“Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, ‘As the LORD, the God of Israel lives, whom I serve, there will neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.'” | 1 KINGS 17:1

Today we begin our journey with Elijah in this excerpt from Climbing Prayer Mountain:

“It is in private prayer that we come to know a living LORD. The years Elijah spent in the rocky mountains of Gilead brought him before a personal LORD. His spirit was made alive and was in tune to the Father’s voice. In a world of constant noise clamoring for our attention, it is vital that we spend time seeking the Face of our Father in private. This time will be the most important part of your day and will bring you life like nothing else can. Once you have tasted a relationship with the Father in private prayer, this time will become your consuming passion.”

How can the circumstances of your life be used by the Father to draw you to Him prayer?

Today’s prayer: God, I praise you for being a God who lifts-up the weak.
