Day 21 of 40

Hearing Your Father’s Voice

“This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased. Listen to Him!” | MATTHEW 17:5

Today we begin our journey with Jesus in this excerpt from Climbing Prayer Mountain:

“When we climb with Jesus, it is vital to understand that Jesus’ number one reason for prayer was to hear His Father’s loving voice and to let the Father’s love direct everything He did. After Jesus’ supernatural encounter with His Father, Moses and Elijah, on what is also called the Mount of Transfiguration, Jesus sets His face firmly towards the cross. He was prepared for what He had been called to accomplish.”

If Jesus had to spend time hearing the voice of His Father, how much more important is it for you and me?

Today’s prayer: God, help me not to use my ‘busyness’ as an excuse to not spend time with you. Like Jesus, help me to make prayer a priority in my life everyday.
