Day 22 of 40

Fast and Pray for a Break-Through

“Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days He was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them He was hungry.” | LUKE 4:1-2

Today’s excerpt from Climbing Prayer Mountain:

“The enemy knows that our unrealized sense of identity is our weak area. If Satan can convince us our identity is found outside of the Father’s love, he has us… We need to rediscover the gift of fasting and pray more than ever. Fasting and prayer are key to retuning our lives to the rhythm of the Father’s powerful grace. They bring us back to Jesus, our true bread of life, who fills our every longing.”

Why do you think fasting and prayer prepare the way for a spiritual breakthrough? Be encouraged to start the discipline of fasting and prayer- it is never easy, but it is vital to your climb up prayer mountain.

Today’s prayer: Father, give me the strength and perseverance necessary to wait for breakthrough.
