Day 32 of 40

Everything Flows Out of Prayer

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” | ACTS 2:42

Today’s excerpt from Climbing Prayer Mountain:

“The early church was a sparkling bride who discovered communication via prayer was the source of deep intimacy with Christ and others. This intimate communication in prayer, the love and fellowship that it produced, combined with communion, was the greatest witness to a love-longing world. These prayers of the followers of Christ increased the number of people saved (Acts 2:47). What a testimony and to think it all began with prayer!”

In Acts 2:42-47, we get the “four pillars” of the early church – teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer. How is prayer the “glue” that holds all the pillars together?

Today’s prayer: Father, take me deeper into your presence today though prayer.
